We sell one thing: solid aromatic red cedar shoe trees, left unfinished.
Why only one product
Shoe care is full of things you do not need. A cedar shoe tree is not one of them. It is the single item that does the most for a pair of leather shoes, and it does three jobs at once: it takes the moisture out, it takes the odour with it, and it holds the shoe at the shape it was made to hold.
Rather than stock forty variations of the same idea, we make one version properly and price it fairly.
Unfinished on purpose
Most cedar trees you find are sealed with lacquer or varnish. It makes them look tidier in a photograph and it stops the wood absorbing anything at all, which defeats the entire point. Ours are left bare and lightly sanded so the grain is open and the wood can work.
There is no added fragrance. The smell is the cedar itself. When it fades after a year or two, a few seconds with fine sandpaper opens the grain again and it comes back.
What we will not tell you
We will not claim a shoe tree waterproofs your shoes, repairs damaged leather, or replaces polishing. It does not. It keeps a good pair from deteriorating between wears, which is a smaller claim and a true one.
